Avanade Inc. Group Manager, Capability Lead - Northeast in New York City, New York
Avanade Inc. seeks a Group Manager, Capability Lead – Northeast in New York, NY to identify and forecast resourcing needs for global technical projects based on skillset demand in the region & in collaboration w/core partner business units. S/he will assume ownership of project-deployable resource management & will lead talent readiness, scheduling, chargeability, recovering, & operating excellence activities across Talent Communities in alignment w/Market Unit demand in the northeast region.
Duties include: partnering w/local & global Market Units, Talent Communities, & Regional Leaders to define/fulfill talent needs; coordinating day-to-day internal operations & partnering w/internal functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Training, & Talent Acquisition to drive efficient & effective use of Talent Community resources; translating go-to-market strategy to workforce planning/strategy initiatives; identifying/driving consistent, integrated processes to manage resource chargeability optimization; supporting effective management/deployment of bench resources; analyzing productivity/chargeability of technical resources to identify gaps/issues; synthesizing staffing metrics (availability, demand, chargeability, and sourcing) to analyze/forecast resource supply & demand to support project/workforce planning; identifying areas of cost control; and driving executive level discussions related to chargeability forecasts, pipelining, & business/talent leads to alert to potential shortcomings. The position is based in New York, NY and requires domestic, overnight travel approximately 20% of the time. However, as the individual spends 80% of his/her time working in New York, NY, s/he must live w/in commuting distance of New York, NY.
Basic Qualifications: The position requires a bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field, plus at least four (4) years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or in a closely related IT consulting position involving global delivery management or global project management, including the following professional experience: 4 years of experience participating in full SDLC delivery; 4 years of experience performing international sourcing for capital projects; 4 years of experience overseeing and facilitating cross-functional global project teams and in-house consulting teams of at least 6 people, including planning, tasking, and tracking work; 4 years of experience defining, managing, and executing mission-critical global enterprise projects using metrics evaluation techniques (productivity, scope of work, KPIs, cost management, and gross margin); and 4 years of experience performing effort estimation, resource forecasting, workforce planning, delivery forecasting, and costing analysis for initial engagement efforts with respect to a technical client service opportunity.
