Avanade Inc. Presales Solution Architect - Dynamics 365 (West Region) in San Francisco, California

The Functional Pre-Sales Business Solution Architect (BSA) for Dynamics 365 (ERP) is responsible for supporting efforts to drive revenue through development and expansion of customer opportunities. BSA’s develop and execute sales strategies with the Business Development teams, drive proposal efforts, shape the solution scope and provide demonstrations of the Dynamics 365 platform to prospective clients. A deep understanding of markets, industries, business, clients and technology primarily within Service Industries market is required. Proven record of delivering business value at an executive level and a trusted voice at the decision-making table.

This position is primarily focused on ERP Supply Chain Management: Supply Chain Planning & Management, Inventory & warehouse management and the ideal candidate will have both functional and technical experience in this area. In addition, candidates should have experience and skills in one or more of the following disciplines: core financials, manufacturing, trade and logistics, human capital management (HCM), and/or project accounting. Manufacturing experiences with lean, process, JIT and other categories of production including demand planning.

Scope of Responsibility:

Client Engagement

o Learn our client's business, their organization, systems, challenges and goals as primary functional contact on any client engagements

o Provide business analysis – lead workshops and requirements discovery sessions at prospect facilities

o Create and deliver prospect specific solution demonstrations of ERP and supporting software (relevant ISV Service Industry Solutions) to various levels of participants from C-level to end-users

o Deal estimation and/or delivering complex solutions for client organizations with heavy client interaction and ownership for the technical/functional approach and estimation of a proposal during the sales process

o Deliver quality written and oral presentations

Team Engagement

o Support and drive business development through all stages of deal pursuit

o Participate in, and lead stakeholder brainstorming, technical/functional planning and design sessions

o Provide fit assessment against RFP and RFI requirement grids

o Assist in developing and executing Solution Development selling strategies

o Knowledge transfer with project delivery team

o Consults, advising our clients and internal stakeholders on the best uses of technology to solve problems

o Engagement skills


Desired Experience:

  • Explain, demo and prove the capabilities of Dynamics 365 solutions

  • Remove technical and competitive blockers

  • Proven record of delivering and demonstrating business value.

  • Understanding of competitive technologies to Dynamics365 i.e. SAP, Oracle

  • 5+ years professional experience as Consultant or Sales Support

  • 5+ years product experience (Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations) with a minimum of one full lifecycle ERP implementation leading a workstream

  • Strong expertise in functional areas such as Supply Chain Management, Financials, Project Accounting, Manufacturing, and Distribution

  • Experience as a consultant, working with external clients, and mentoring/managing others

  • You are the ultimate diplomat with demonstrated leadership abilities

  • You are personable, enthusiastic, a strong communicator and detail-oriented

  • You have shown you can rise to the challenge, think on your feet and problem solve

  • You have the ability to work in high pressure situations with demanding clients under tight timelines while keeping your cool

  • You are flexible with travel


Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Sales or Marketing strongly preferred.
